CholesTrak® total cholesterol test kits have been evaluated in consumer studies throughout the US and its accuracy averages 97% when instructions are followed correctly.

CholesTrak test kits  are available in two different presentations:

1. CholesTrak® Single Kit $12.95

Contains: 1 test device, 1 cholesterol result chart, 1 finger stick device (lancet), 1 gauze pad, 1 bandage and directions brochure.

2. CholesTrak® Dual Kit $19.95

Contains: 2 test devices, 2 cholesterol result charts, 2 finger stick devices (lancets), 2 gauze pads, 2 bandages and directions brochure.

Since the Dual Kit contains two test devices, it is a better value and it is recommended over the Single Kit because the first test device can be used before any cholesterol control regimen begins, and the second test device can be used after a reasonable period of time has been given to the regimen to produce results. The recommended time to see results from any cholesterol control regimen is usually 60 days. 

Important note: It is recommended to test your total blood cholesterol level every three months with a self-test kit. At least once a year, during your routine physical exam, remind your doctor to order a comprehensive test of your blood lipids (including total cholesterol, LDL, HDL and triglyceride) from a reputable laboratory.
